The Uganda Virus Research Institute through East African Consortium for Clinical Research-HIV node (EACCR2-HIV node) is inviting applications for a short course training on Basic Epidemiology and Biostatistics that will be held from 20th to 24th August 2018 at Uganda Virus Research Institute, Entebbe, Uganda. This is a 5-day long course targeted at young researchers, Medical doctors, laboratory technologists, Masters’ and Ph.D. students who need the skills in basic epidemiology and biostatistics. The course consists of intensive learning sessions and hands-on practical sessions in biostatistics delivered by some of the leading biostatisticians and epidemiologists in the field.
Priority will be given to applicants from institutions that are members of the EACCR2 consortium. Applicants should at least have a Bachelor’s science degree and has been working in the field of medical research for at least two years. MSc and Ph.D. students are also invited to apply if the skills to be attained will have a direct significant impact in their research projects.
Selected participants will receive a bursary to cover flights from within Eastern Africa, accommodation and meals. Please note that no per diem will be paid besides the travel and other expenses covered.
